Saundersfoot, Pembrokshire, Wales.

We visited Saundersfoot in South West Wales the second weekend of October 2008. The trip was about 3 hours driving and traffic was surprisingly light. We left Swindon about 10am and arrived approximately 2pm.

First impression was that it looks very much like Cornwall (where I grew up). Beautiful rugged coastline with lovely sandy beaches. The town itself is quite small, it has a nice choice of shops. Not to busy, although this may be due to the time of year.

There is a working harbour, and a constant flow of small fishing vessels and other sail boats frequent the harbour.

The place is quiet, perfect for relaxing, the first 2 days we were blessed with amazing weather, bright sunshine and broken clouds to add drama to the scene.

Seals, Cormorants and flocks of Gulls are regular visitors adding interest to the calm seas.

The town has plenty of pubs and restaurants if you wish to treat yourself, we didn't though, preferring to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down with a nice glass of wine.

Well I hope you enjoy the photos and I can highly recommend Saundersfoot as a holiday destination.
